Answers to the most common questions about our products.
There are five sizes, and the size that is the most common is determined by the patient category in which it is used. In general, children mask sizes are between 1- 3. For the delivery room, size 4 and 5 are the most commonly used.
A maximum of 5 years.
No not at the current time.
No, all of our masks are latex-free.
It is important that the air column between the inner and outer masks are not pressed together. Keep the mask loosely fitted and in place with three fingertips from the thumb, index finger and middle finger. Think of a vacuum cleaner nozzle where you may suction up a piece of paper that is lying across the mouthpiece – this will cause noise. This same principle applies when the mask is pressed against the patient and the column is compressed, and this will also hinder the suction capability.
It is important that the mask is held in the correct manner to minimize sound and cold hands. The mask is placed over the patient’s nose and mouth, tubes and/or hoses are to be placed in holders, which allows free placement of the mask. Use three fingertips from thumb, index finger and middle finger to loosely hold the mask in the proper position over nose and mouth. The other fingers should be used to hold up the chin to keep the airway free. Any potential leakage around the Double mask will be evacuated by means of the Double mask function.
The Double mask should be cleaned with disinfectant between each patient. The coupling house should be removed from the Double mask, but NOTHING ELSE should be removed from the Double mask. Read manual for cleaning instructions.
The most frequently used flows consist of 27m3 (450 m3/min), with exception of the combined use of the Double mask and chin mask where a high flow of 35m3 (583 m3/min) should be used.
