Anesthesia

Anesthesia

In general anesthesia, anesthetics may be delivered in different forms of gases, anesthesia gases or inhalational anesthetics, and injection solutions. Anesthesia gases are delivered through a breathing mask, and gas leakage may commonly occur, which in turn exposes the medical staff to risks. Anesthetic gases are invisible, and are especially treacherous in this situation.

Medicvents unique and patented Double mask system guarantees that excess gases and gas leakage do not contaminate the working environment. The Double mask consists of hard outer mask of transparent Polysulfone, and a soft inner mask of transparent silicone. There is a column between the outer and inner masks where leaking gas is suctioned and evacuated through the coupling house and the evacuation tubes.  The coupling house connects the Double mask with the evacuation tube system (standard ISO taper). The Double mask works with all well-known anesthesia systems and is available in 5 sizes.

Gas evacuation is made possible by the means of Medicvent’s effective fan systems. Read more about our different fan systems here:

Postop & Recovery room

Following a procedure with anesthetic gas, the expirational breaths from patients frequently contain anesthetic gas during a relatively long period of time. To avoid high anesthetic gas concentrations in room air, a specially designed chin mask may be favorable, such as Anevac P. It effectively extracts exhalational gases from the patients during the first 15-20-minute period in the post-op or recovery room.

Medicvents unique and patented Double mask system guarantees that excess gases and gas leakage do not contaminate the working environment.
