Medicvent Central System Redundancy Module 540 consists of two exhaust fans, two frequency inverters, and an associated control cabinet, all mounted on a common chassis.
The system is fully automatic and operates continuously.
Central System Redundancy Module 540 operates with a primary and a secondary exhaust fan, where the secondary fan only assists as needed or if the primary fan is taken out of service. The primary and secondary fans automatically switch roles each week to utilize both fans equally. The Central System Redundancy Module 540 is entirely automatic and should not be started or stopped by any other systems. The system offers potential-free connections for operation indication, as well as A-alarms and B-alarms. It is programmed so that under normal usage and flow capacity, only one fan is used. When the flow demand exceeds the capacity of a single fan, the second fan is activated.
With two fans and regulated control, the system achieves full redundancy. In the event of a fan or frequency control failure, the system automatically switches the primary fan motor over to the secondary fan motor.
According to ISO standards, smoke evacuation central systems must always be 100% redundant.
