Nitrous Oxide Destructor DeN20-S5
The Destructor eliminates up to 99% of nitrous oxide present in the collected exhaled air.
Medicvent’s Destructor is designed for the high flow rates used in the Medicvent Double Mask and Medicvent Central Systems, ensuring maximum destruction of nitrous oxide.
The Destructor destroys up to 99% of the nitrous oxide present in the collected exhaled air. The purification process takes place through a catalytic process combined with highly efficient regenerative heat exchange, where nitrous oxide is broken down into oxygen and nitrogen, the most common components of regular air. The Destructor is CE-marked, meaning it meets the requirements of the Machinery Directive regarding health and safety.
The machine is delivered in three parts consisting of an electrical cabinet (including control system (PLC) and operator panel), a fan unit, and a catalyst section. These parts are easily assembled at the installation site.
The associated operator panel allows for easy monitoring of the process.
The Destructor is available in three sizes: S05 (350m³/h), S1 (750m³/h), and S3 (1650m³/h).

– Information system (data logger)

Power consumption
Energy consumption varies with airflow and nitrous oxide concentration. Long-term measurement data from Sundsvall Hospital (8 mask outlets) and Norra Älvsborg Hospital (10 mask outlets) indicate a nominal energy consumption of 1.4–1.6 kW.
